Improve your outdoorsmanship and survival skills by coming down to Camp
Wyandot for a weekend. Specialists will lead workshops for kids and adults.
Orienteering (map and compass), firebuilding, outdoor cooking, knots and
lashing are just a few topics that may be covered. This is a great opportunity
for older campers to earn beads and emblems, or complete the requirements
for the Outdoor Progression.
The annual Spring Skills Weekend at Camp Wyandot is right around the corner!
Participants will enjoy a day of
nature study and outdoor living skills everything from simple knotting
and knife use/safety to advanced cooking
skills and orienteering plus hiking, canoeing and kayaking. The
Bird Banders will be at Camp Wyandot to share
their craft and educate the campers about the purpose of banding
birds.
Each group needs to bring their own food supplies for Saturday
lunch to cook over an open fire at one of the many
fire rings around camp. Trainers will be available during lunch
to help inexperienced groups with basic fire
building and outdoor cooking. A campfire, complete with s mores
and singing will be held on Saturday evening.
